In the winter we normally meet at Theydon Bois Village Hall (see below), usually on the second Friday of each month. We usually have a demonstration or a talk by a professional artist. There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions or for advice. Meetings start at 8.00 pm and finish at about 10 pm.
Non-members are very welcome and are charged £4.
Please sign the visitors book.
Tea and coffee are available at the break.
Will be held at Theydon Bois village Hall on 11th & 12th May 2018 and will show the talent of our local members who use watercolour, acrylics, pastels or oils, as well as pencil sketches and pen work. The variety of styles and subjects makes the exhibition interesting, and provides something for everyone to enjoy. Pictures are for sale at reasonable prices. Refreshments are served.
In recent years we have raffled a picture by a professional artist, so for a pound, vistors have the chance of winning a unique painting.
Members also paint 10cm square "Charity Squares" which sell at £5 each, together with some personal greetings cards. Over the last few years we have raised an average of £200 each year for local charities.
Exhibition Open: Friday evening 7 - 9pm; Saturday 10am - 5pm.
Admission: £1. Refreshments. Free parking.
Please come and enjoy our exhibition.
We are kindly allowed to show a selection of paintings by members in the window of the shop at 12,Coppice Row, Theydon. This is changed about once a month. Paintings may be purchased but please do not contact the shop. If you wish to buy a painting, note the price and the title and contact Barry Turner 01992 812652 or Trish Haslehurst 01992 812177.
In the month prior to the exhibition, pictures are on display in several shop windows in Theydon Bois. These pictures are not for sale until the exhibition opens.
A pleasant, modern building on Coppice Row, (the B172), Theydon Bois, CM16 7ER, opposite the Village Green. There is a large free car park for visitors and users of the hall.
The total number of members is limited by our constitution, and we are looking for new members who will be able to attend our meetings regularly and contribute to the organisation and running of the group.
Membership is restricted to those over eighteen years of age.
Since there are no beginners' classes, and members are entitled to exhibit at our exhibitions without selection, we expect new members to have basic competence in drawing or painting.
