Jenny Richards was a student at Worthing Collage of Art in Sussex where she trained for four years as a fashion artist. She won a Royal Society of Arts bursary which enabled her to continue her studies in France, Switzerland and Italy. On her return she worked as a designer for Clarks Shoes in Somerset and later for Norvic in London.
On leaving Norvic Jenny joined Technical Artists in London as a fashion illustrator and during this period her interest in landscape painting began to grow. She decided to work as a freelance artist. While some of her commissions remained commercially based, mainly illustrations for record companies, she was also free to pursue her chosen subjects. Recently she has decided not to accept any further commissions.
Jenny joined the Ilford Art Society and was accepted as a member of the Essex Art Club. She is also a member of Kings Oak Art Group, based at High Beech, in Essex.
