We have had some difficulty interpreting the government regulations, the interpretations of the regulations and advice, and the policies of the three halls which we use, all of which have changed from time to time. At present, one exhibition is running at The View and the Wanstead House exhibition has been cancelled. The demonstrations for October and November have also been cancelled. (see News Items)
Two new pages have been added to the website Isolation Activities so that members can show what they are painting during isolation, (new entries still welcome) and Postcard Competition showing the entries received.
Sorry. At present some sections of the website are out of action.
The CV List has been revised. The code was very old and it has now been revised. Members who have a new or preexisting CV are invited to check. New CVs are welcome. These should consist of some text and one or two images (two look better). Members who have a CV with one image may like to provide a second.

All areas of the visual arts except photography and sculpture, including painting and drawing in watercolour, oils, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, ink, mixed media and printmaking. Our subjects include terrestrial and marine landscapes, portraits and life studies, still life and abstracts.
We aim to hold at least two exhibitions a year, one in Essex and one in London.
Look for details of our Activities, which include demonstrations by specialist artists, talks on art history, informal painting sessions, a portrait group and workshops in selected disciplines.
We are a long-established (one hundred and twenty years) society of artists and art-lovers, currently about 80 strong. Our members range from total beginners to full-time professionals and include tutors and teachers of art, but most of our members are enthusiastic amateurs. Take a look at the CVs of some of our exhibiting members and portfolios of paintings, drawings and original prints Portfolio I, Portfolio II).
Wanstead House, 21 The Green, E11 2NT (near Wanstead Underground station) is our usual venue for demonstrations, talks, and social functions. We usually meet in the hall behind the main house.
We are always looking for new members. If you would like to join the Essex Art Club look at the details of membership and send for, or download, an application form.
