I have enjoyed drawing from a young age and produced sketches etc. for school display. When working for a New Zealand Company, I produced pen sketches for the company magazine. I took to watercolour and pastel in the 70s, attending classes under Bernard Bowerman at Loughton College, and Harry Richardson at Greenleaf Road Centre, Walthamstow. I eventually became a member of the art clubs listed above, and exhibited regularly at their exhibitions over many years, as well as at Simmonds Gallery in Woodford Green. I have had several two-man shows with Belinda Tong, at Saffron Walden and Chelmsford Libraries and also with John Cathro at Loughton Library this year (2006). I have had two one-man shows with the Corporation of London at their Camomile St Library and Barbican Library in their Arts Area. Some years back I did exhibit with the Pastel Society, but rarely use that medium now. |
